Bred to run early. The filly is bred to run early being from Sassi Bella, a Presidential Ball half-sister to Mark Anthony (190,000 plus) and Assassinator ($210,000 plus), two very smart race winning juveniles. The latter was raced by Trevor Casey, Neil Pilcher and Natalie Rasmussen from Mark Purdon’s stable before both were sold to race successfully in Australia. The third dam Assisi was one of New Zealand’s leading fillies of her era and at stud produced the brilliant Roman Gladiator and the ill-fated cup class horse Scorching (11 wins). Her daughters and granddaughters are breeding on, producing a stream of group winners with many offspring featuring each year in Brian West’s Studholme Bloodstock’s very successful draft of yearlings. Art Major – leading sire consistently tops sales averages. Art Major’s 15 yearlings averaged $70,000 at the 2016 NZ Premier sale in Auckland and his 20 yearlings $53,947 at the Australasian Sales in Christchurch. The filly is a half-sister to the Australian based race winning duo Machitelli, and the full brother Ranieri (two wins to date) while Greg Payne has the very promising qualified Sunshine Beach colt half brother named Bolzano. The filly is nominated for the NZ Sires’ Stakes, Nevele R and Caduceus Club series.
